Electrical Installs

Electrical Installs

The Electrical Installs that we as a company carry out range from office fit outs to installing workshop power, through to the planning and fitting of low energy LED lighting projects.

To give an idea as to what this covers please see below…

  • Design and plan the load demand likely to be imposed on the power-supply system being installed.
  • Fitting new or replacing old Distribution Boards.
  • Running of cabling for rings, radials and lighting circuits.
  • Installation of sockets and other electrical fittings.
  • Installation of cable containment methods.
  • Extend or re-configure lighting circuits.
  • Replace old light fittings with new energy saving LEDs.
  • Installation of Electric Vehicle Charging points.

All of the work we carry out is in accordance with BS7671 Wiring Regulations, accredited by NAPIT (National Association of Professional Inspectors & Testers) and notified to Building Control under the Part P Regulations where necessary.

Case Study

Requirement

We were approached by a company of Ecclesiastical Architectures who specialise in working with churches in the Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Sheffield Dioceses to implement a proposed re-lighting solution of the Chancel and Reredos areas of a local church based in Sheffield.

This was to replace the old existing lighting arrangement, consisting of uneconomical fluorescent fittings and halogen spotlights, with a more cost efficient and modern solution in both of these two areas.

On top of this was added the requirement to ensure that the level of lighting could be controlled by the use of dimmers switches and on a zone by zone basis.

Solution

To achieve this the following was required…

  • Planning and organising of scaffolding to be erected on the north and south sides of the Chancel to enable access.
  • A rewire of the Chancel and Reredos areas of the church that supplies the lighting.
  • All old light fittings were removed and replaced with modern energy saving LEDs spotlights.
  • All lighting controlled by zone from the extra light dimmer switches installed in the vestry.

With the above in place the outcome was not only a saving on the churches energy bills but a controlled atmospheric effect as can be seen in the picture below.
